All pit-fire pottery is for decoration only and is not food safe, and the vessels will not hold water. Because the pottery is low fired, it is fragile. The colors can be influenced by raku glazes and other organic materials introduced.
Like pit-fire pottery Saggar is for decoration only and is not food safe, and the vessels will not hold water. Because the pottery is low fired, it is fragile. The colors are produced when the pottery is placed into a sealed chamber, within a kiln, along with organic material. The hues, colors and patterns are random and vary in color from black-silver to bright orange.
My clay wind bells are each unique. They are high fired to stoneware and resist all weather conditions. The hanging straps are leather. The bells are selcted for their tone and bells that do not meet my quality are not sold.
